When pandemic hits our country in Malaysia, the ever first health crisis we ever encountered. Although it is unbelievable, but it is the truth and the reality that we need to accept. Our country has a total lockdown on March 2020. It was like a doomed or a paused never felt as such before. Things start changing. Everything including our daily routine, work, personal, social. We have fear almost every day. Day in day out we upkeep with news from our smartphone that give us understanding what this virus is all about. Yet, more and more negative news we received. Our emotional was rather at a confused state. For weeks I cannot do my sketches, cannot even hold a pencil and I even have no appetite to eat. I cannot find a better way to express my feeling. A month plus after our total lockdown, things settled a little bit. My thoughts finally started shifting to the way I look at Covid 19. At the back of my mind, my little voice said why not look at the positive side of it? We are resetting and the Earth needs a break. It is recovering from what human has done to the Mother Nature. From this, my inspiration kicks in to make the world still looks beautiful and spread HOPE. I have applied my expression into a pair of earrings adopting the surgical mask concept. It is also to pair with your daily surgical mask, just like pairing accessories so we don’t feel so much negativity when wearing the mask. Imagine a simple surgical mask that we normally never pay attention can give some degree of protection. Don't you think there is still solution to the crisis? I have added glitter to represent the silver lining on every cloud. Emphasizing there is always opportunity in every crisis. When the design was first created, I named it C19.
